New Orleans Part-2

To the 15,000,

Rob asked me to pass on the following two emails regarding Katrina’s devistation. I am also including a list of rescue options for animals passed on to me through other channels.

Rob

Here is one good way to help: http://www.hurricanehousing.org/ Unfortunately we are probably too far away for most of these folks but I have been sending this link to everyone I know in the Southeast so they can sign up. It’s a start…

Hey, Rob!

Thanks for the updates…Congrats on your progress!

My husband is the bureau chief for CBS News’ disaster coverage in New Orleans…It is a NIGHTMARE, as you can imagine. They have no electricity or running water, but they’re supposed to “make television”.

He is there with his “fraternity” from Kuwait/Iraq coverage in 2003, so that is some consolation for me. They are a great bunch.

Still, I’d appreciate any good “vibrations” you can send his way. It is just an overwhelming story…an overwhelming situation…and soooo depressing to see how our infrastructure has crumbled in five short years of BUSH. And…how really nothing has changed in that part of the country since the Louisiana Purchase! (as to race, economics, housing, health care, etc…)

Big hugs!

DW
